Some of you might not really know Neil Diamond. But I grew up with my parents listening to him. One of my good friends LOVES him, so when I saw he was gonna be on Jimmy Kimmel Live I told her and now I'm going to see him perform tomorrow with her.
It should be fun. Jenn C. told me she saw him in concert and it was really fun. (Sorry if that wasn't something you wanted EVERYONE to know about you ... it's really only Shelby who reads this besides you and me anyway!)
So, I will be in LA and will miss the performance show. But I will be taping it and watching it when I get home. I think these songs will be fun and easy for the Idols. I can't wait to see David Cook take a Neil Diamond song and make it the coolest thing I've ever heard!
Archuleta will do well with these songs too. I'm a little worried about Syesha. I don't know how she'll get a strong black woman voice into any of them ... but she could surprise me. Also, Jason will do well. And so will Brooke if she can just NOT START OVER! I'm sure she'll never do that again.

Have fun rockin' out to Neil Diamond!! And no, I am not embarrassed that you shared that I have been to a Neil Diamond concert. He is an amazing performer!

Neil Diamond was fun but it was REALLY entertaining to watch the biggest variety-mix of people at that show!! Hilarious!
The show tonight: I think Jason is in trouble. I feel like he's given these songs the last 3 weeks and he's like "what the heck am I supposed to do with Dolly Parton, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Neil Diamond?!?! He has NO connection whatsoever to the songs he's been singing. I hope that for next week he can have someone a little more contemporary, poor guy! He can't fake the connection with these songs that mean nothing to him.
Brooke's first song made me want to fast forward - hated it! But her second song I totally loved! Such polar opposite reactions in ONE night! Jenn did you call her and tell her to quit doing the lip thing cause it annoys you? Cause she only did it a couple of times.
Syesha, she is so growing on me. She has a pretty voice and she's just become a fun, looks like she loves what she's singing kinda girl. I don't think she has any chance of winning but I'm seriously wondering if she's going to last longer than Jason or Brooke.
David A was adorable - just belts those songs out and gives you warm fuzzies all over your heart. He kept his eyes open so well! I just love him.
David Cook is the only TRUE star of this show and the reason I love it and can't wait till next Tuesday. It doesn't matter whose songs he has to sing, it doesn't matter ... he is gonna make it HIS and I LOVE HIM -- DAVID COOK SHOULD WIN THIS THING!!!! He is so talented and fun to watch and so controlled and he just ROCKS!!!
Paula Abdul needs to cut back on whatever antidepressants she's on, the poor girl can't even speak intelligeably (ha ha ...I don't even know how to spell that!!!)

Neil Diamond, lol, do the producers not get that half their audience is under 30? I didnt even recognize most of those songs and have probably never actively chosen to listen to a Neil Diamond song in my life.
Jason is getting rather boring. Brooke is ok. Sayesha (sp?) should just go do broadway. I really like her when she is doing broadway type songs and performances. She does have a really amazing voice, but she isnt going to win.
David A seriously makes me pause and really watch him everytime he sings. I really appreciate when someone has an amazing voice and his voice,esp at 16, is just unbelievable. Although I dont see myself listening constantly to his music, it does make me go wow everytime he sings. He could easily be another Josh Groban.
David C. is good but I am not as enthuised as Jeannie. He is a diff style than David A but I think he is getting a little more hype then he would get if he didnt do AI. He would have kind of been just another rock singer. I do like his style, though. His second song I thought was the best of the night just because I could see myself listening to that song. I can also see him sort of fading away after AI, though. He just doesnt have the same appeal, imo, as Chris Daughtry.
I will make everyone a cd after AI is over of the songs I found worthy enough to buy on itunes!
Lets just say most of David Cooks and Brookes songs will be on there and many of David A, Jason and of course Michael Johns (who I still miss and wish I could buy more of his songs)

I liked Jason's first song, not the 2nd one as much. I agree w/ Jeannie...I think he's not really able to connect to the songs. I still say I'd be buying the songs HE does sing well.
I liked David C's second, not his first. (I think he does well b/c he CAN make these songs his own!)
I loved Syesha's second, and her first was fine. But she DOES need to go into Broadway.
I really liked both of Brooke's performances and I was glad the judges told her to perform the rest of her songs behind the piano. (What wasup with Paula not liking her song choice b/c of Idol Gives Back?) Too bad she went home!!!
I loved David A's performances.
AT THIS POINT, I AM OKAY WITH EITHER DAVID A, DAVID C, JASON OR SYESHA WINNING. But I think David C will win and will probably be the most successful, but I will more likely be buying David A's and Jason's songs. Glad Brooke went home tonight.
And I like Neil Diamond.
