I think you all have iTunes ... I highly recommend downloading the podcasts of "Idols on Ellen" - it's a free subscription. I just watched the David Cook one ... his song ... oh wow!!! I'm so glad he won!!!! It is so awesome, so awesome. I LOVE DAVID COOK!!!!!

Tuesday Night

Well, it's official, Diane and I will be attending the Tuesday Night performances for the finale :)

Jason needs to go now. (Never thought I'd say that....he's always been in my top three!. I still say; I'll buy HIS music when he makes a CD of HIS kind of music.) I think David A stole the show last night. (Did you hear him stick up for Jason? How cute was that?) Syesha was great to watch. David C was okay. I thought he was going to do MUCH better because this was "his" area of expertise. The top two need to be our Davids! And there's my two cents...

ROCK AND ROLL

Rock 'n' Roll - THIS should be a good week. The top FOUR get to pick songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I am excited to see what songs they pick. I'm assuming they will each get to sing TWO songs each again.

Do you think Paula can handle it this time? Can she keep it straight that FOUR people are going to sing TWO songs each? Better hold off on the prozac or alcohol or whatever she's on just in case!

Who is this man?!

Some of you might not really know Neil Diamond. But I grew up with my parents listening to him. One of my good friends LOVES him, so when I saw he was gonna be on Jimmy Kimmel Live I told her and now I'm going to see him perform tomorrow with her.

It should be fun. Jenn C. told me she saw him in concert and it was really fun. (Sorry if that wasn't something you wanted EVERYONE to know about you ... it's really only Shelby who reads this besides you and me anyway!)

So, I will be in LA and will miss the performance show. But I will be taping it and watching it when I get home. I think these songs will be fun and easy for the Idols. I can't wait to see David Cook take a Neil Diamond song and make it the coolest thing I've ever heard!

Archuleta will do well with these songs too. I'm a little worried about Syesha. I don't know how she'll get a strong black woman voice into any of them ... but she could surprise me. Also, Jason will do well. And so will Brooke if she can just NOT START OVER! I'm sure she'll never do that again.

She's gone....

Carly left us. I still think she'll do well now though. She's gotten enough recognition and probably enough of a fan base to make it. If she comes out with some good, clean songs...I may even buy it.

A great night....

Wow, these were some of my absolute favorite songs! Honestly, I can't really say that I disliked ANY of the performances tonight.

Syesha-wow-hot-sexy-outstanding. and I think, overall, my favorite performance tonight. (I think she needs to seriously think about Broadway as a career.)

Jason. Hmmmm, a little ignorant in his song choice. Definately, my least fav performance of his and of the ALW whole night....BUT, I still enjoyed listening. (It's such a pretty song!)

Brooke... I DID NOT LIKE that she started over, but I thought she performed REALLY well. Come on, it's a song MADONNA has made famous-give her a little credit! Way to go, Brooke!

Little David-it was good....brave too. I don't know if I would have had the balls to change such a masterpiece of a song.

Carly- it was fun to watch and I think she did it really well....I wish she wouldn't YELL her songs though.

Big David....not my fav of his, but enjoyable.

And Kristy....oh yeah, she's gone-AND GOOD THING! This night would have been way over her head!

ALW Week!

I am so excited for tomorrow. It will be so cool to hear these 6 sing Andrew Lloyd Webber songs. We got Phantom, Cats, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sound of Music, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita. This could potentially be the greatest week ever on American Idol!

FINALLY!

WOW!

No one even came close to David Cook tonight!!! WOW! I was so touched that he cried too, cause although he is consistently good, I think he has been a little cocky lately. He was, by far, my favorite. In fact, if his version of that song were available right now, I would buy it!

My second choice was Jason Castro. Just my kind of singer, I guess.

Close third was little David A.

After that, surprisingly, Kristy did a good job on her song. (Except the little twang that snuck in occassionally.)

I thought Syesha's performance was ok.

I did NOT like Carly at all and Brooke royally screwed up....poor girl.

What was up with the whole fast food analogy? Did you hear Simon giving Paula advice on what to say to Carly? She didn't know how to tell her she sucked and Simon whispered..."Do you want some advice? Tell her...." then they cut his mike off. It was funny. Paula has the hardest time telling people when they don't do well. Overall, tonight was a better night for most than last week though.

Title inspired by Jeannie....Last night, I really liked David A. and Jason Castro. (My two favs almost every week.) LOVED THEM BOTH!

I REALLY like David C's hair cut and he did a good job performing, but I did not like the song choice. (I have to admit, Jeannie, I am loving all the David C. songs you have playing on our songlist!)

Although, I agreed with Simon about Carly's wardrobe...it came across as pretty rude, especially after the rumor that she was pregnant because of her little "bulge" of a tummy. (I am so glad I am not in the limelight!) She does have an amazing voice....but I don't think she blew me away.

Ramielle needs to go now....enough said on her.

I was glad Brooke was playing an instrument, she always does better when her hands are otherwise occupied.

I didn't get to see the last three because we had temple recomend interviews so I watched them on the web....

Kristy also needs to go soon. I think she was my least favorite performance and that is sad cause this should have been her night to shine!

Michael was good again...finally.

And little Syesha I was impressed with her again! She's got a voice and sound comparable to Whitney Houston, so I was glad she took on a song that allowed us to compare them...although it was much less 'diva-esque' than Whitneys version.

Oh my gosh - How embarrassing! I feel so bad they printed this about Brooke. Now everyone is going to think all Mormon girls are like this. And I'm sure they'll vote her off soon - just like they did with David Hernandez when the gay stripper thing came out.

OK ... so I'm not sure what to call it, does it go by weeks? It's easier to just say how many contestants are still on it.

Do you have any predictions before watching Tuesday?

I think the country girl will once again SUCK. I really hated her song last week! She has no passion or emotion. I am wondering if Chakeezie (I really tried to use his real name just now!) will be any good this week. Probably not.

I'm really hoping that David A. will be back on his game and blow our minds again. I wanna see Australian boy do something a little more powerful than what he's done in the past. And I hope that David Cook and Brooke White and Carley are all amazing again.

I also hope Simon keeps most of his chest INSIDE his shirt this time! Did you see last week? His shirt was all unbuttoned and he was showing off some fresh fake-bake or something!

Now that all the gay boys are gone, I will have to find someone else to mock ... perhaps Chakeezie!

Good week - just no time to blog.

I'm disappointed with the results today. I thought the country girl should've gone. I don't usually like her songs. Jacuzzi was first on my list to go - but he was so good this week. I think it's a fluke.

David Cook

David Cook was my man tonight. He made one of the cheesiest songs (remember the video of the blind girl sculpting Lionel Richie's face out of clay - ugh!) so incredibly cool! And he looked hot w/ his guitar and I just loved everything about it!

David A was my next favorite, Michael Johns was HOT again (I loved hearing him talk, he's just SO SEXY) and I liked his song tonight!

I also liked Jason's song - that's a super hard song to sing and he sounded just like Jeff Buckley, so props to him! (Lauren's FAV)

I have to say that Luke, as DANG GOOD LOOKING as he his might go this week. It doesn't get any cheesier than Wham! PLEASE! ... and Jaccuzzi too ... I just hope they leave Danny in ONE more week!!! I think you all hate him by now, but, OMG, I love him ... TMTH!!!

David Hernandez has been naughty ... this morning on CNN.com I read the following:

"The 24-year-old finalist from Glendale, Arizona, once worked as a stripper at Dick's Cabaret, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club's "mostly male" clientele, club manager Gordy Bryan said Monday.

"He had the look and the type that people like, so he made pretty good money here," Bryan said.

It's not clear whether a history as a stripper could disqualify Hernandez from the competition. In 2003, finalist Frenchie Davis was dismissed because of her appearance on an adult Web site; but last year, Antonella Barba remained in the competition after racy photos of her surfaced on the Internet."

LUKE: the new cute boy of the week. OK, so I thought we should have our own blog just about american idol. If not, it's gonna take over the other blog! With 4 of us INTO it this season, this might be fun. You all need to sign up for it ... hopefully it won't take forever like when we started the other blog.

I've only watched the boys this week. My top 4 are the Davids and the Luke! David Archuleta was just amazing. I will be buying THAT song from iTunes. I thought David Hernandez and David Cook were also really good. Luke, he's VERY good looking and I liked his Queen song this week! The others were just OK ... (including hot Aussie - he was still hot looking!)

I think Robbie and Jason Y have to go. They're both so cheesy I wanna laugh when I watch them. I hope they leave the little gay boy in a little longer. He's got a pretty voice and I so enjoy the drama, the looks, the body language, and the attitude :0
